Dear horror movie,

That line in the first letter of John that "many antichrists have come" doesn't mean "the devil can have lots of demon babies."

Dear Trick or Treat Exchange Pumpkin,

Hey! Thanks so much for writing/drawing for me! I’m sure I’ll love anything you make.

All levels of violence/gore are A-OK with me and my only squicks are incest and underage sex. I like characters interacting with each other in any way. I also dig character studies, horror, adventure, interdependence (characters helping each other out), and humor.

(I kinda rambled on. Feel free to ignore this. Like I said, I’ll be happy with anything).

  1.  Now that I got a new job* writing horror movie/TV reviews, there are even more things I can stress out about not writing.
  2. Related: The Bad Seed makes way more sense if instead of the psychopathy-is-a-recessive-gene nonsense there is a little bit of Rhoda in her mother.
* My psychiatrist would remind you that this isn't really a job because I don't make money. But I call it a job.

I'm just gonna headcanon all missing fictional ladies as having navigational impairments. Possibly even if they're dead.

Not as an explanation for why they're missing, but just because there's no evidence to stop me. If I find evidence to stop me--like, "oh, she's a scientist "--it's usually because I'm too narrow-minded and should consider it CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

I made two vids for Festivids. Guess one, and I'll write you a drabble or something.

I have nothing really deep to say about this, other than it had no title until the last minute and the title is a pretty bunk metaphor anyhow.

[personal profile] melannen asked me to talk about whether pigs have wings.

Yes. Yes they do.

As a kid, I had this book called Perfect the Pig, written by Susan Jeschke. I couldn't remember much about it—not even if Perfect actually had wings or if he could just fly—other than it was really long and difficult to read (but I still liked it.)

Thank goodness for the Internet. And Reading Rainbow. Here's the episode, which I also remember, now that I've seen it.

(Such a deep analysis, I know.)

Pick a date below and give me a topic - it can be anything, from fandom related to life related to art related to whatever you want.

They will probably be brief, or not, depending on the subject.

Also, I reserve the right to decline prompts that I don't feel equipped to meet.

Topics: you can get an idea from my tags/from the stuff I usually ramble about/from things you maybe wish I talked about more but don't.

You can request multiple topics (as long as they're on different days -- one topic per day!!).

1. iMovie is a butt.
2. I hate [X] and am never vidding it again.
3. Maybe reading some vidding meta will help.
3a. OH GOD I AM DOING EVERYTHING WRONG.
4. Maybe if I convert everything to MPEG-4 files iMovie will stop being a butt.
5. That's how you batch convert things? I should've looked this up HOURS ago!
6. OH GOD I AM DOING EVERYTHING WRONG.

....But I am self-conscious about my taste in music for my assignment. (It's the kind of music I got made fun of for liking in middle school.)

(I should be embarrassed about my music choice for Treat the First. Partly because I'm not, Treat the First is easier to work on.)

Dear Festividder,

This is my first year participating in [community profile] festivids, and I’m excited! I had a really hard time writing this letter, though. I love all these fandoms, but don’t know what to request because I’d rather see what you did with them.

In regards to music, the genres I’m most familiar with are country & western and oldies, but for most of these fandoms I have no preference. (And the exception is just that..a preference.) Have fun!

  • My mom had a hip replacement 6 weeks or so ago. She’s doing really well, and I’ve learned a bunch of new things (like How to Find the Mailboxes, because we need a new Netflix movie)

  • Being into doing housework and learning lots of new life skills means it’s really hard to sit down and write—which wouldn’t be so bad except for the game review I should probably get done.

  • Said game I should be reviewing is Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness. Naturally, I jumped down the Rabbit Hole of Procrastination and Party Collecting that is the Disgaea-verse postgame. (Then again, I’m still playing it after 130+ hours, so…thumbs up?)

  • All this video game playing means I’ve listened to a lot of Welcome to Night Vale.

  • I’d really like to get this review written, though, because [community profile] festivids opens for signups soon! I am excited! (Too excited. I started clipping already.)

terajk: Kyle from Child's Play 2 flipping the bird. (so done with this killer doll's bullshit)
If your movie is incredibly talky/made of closeups of people's faces, when people DO move, Jitter Cam (link goes to TVTropes) is an especially bad artistic choice.

(And yet, I seriously want to vid it. Dammit.)
terajk: Charles Lee Ray hiding behind a Good Guy doll and holding a gun. (the other me needs batteries)
Aw, yeeuh.

AND SOMEONE ALREADY NOMINATED THE CHILD'S PLAY SERIES SO I DON'T HAVE TO. Which gave me the (emotional) freedom to nominate:
