kink_bingo I've watched a little of the subbed versions of Ouran High School Host Club and Soul Eater back-to-back and it's done wonderful, bubbly, scary things to my brain. (Death the Kid and Tamaki Suoh are both Mamoru Miyano.) Of course Liz and Patty have to be there to comment on the similarity, since your own voice sounds differently in your head than outside of it so neither Kid nor Tamaki would notice.
To my great horror and sadness I am not more familiar with Death Note as Mamoru Miyano is also Light Yagami. Now, THERE is a threesome, let me tell you. (It probably involves Tamaki going: "Goddammit WHAT HAPPENED TO MY APPLES?" and Light being all: "Pfft--you don't know anything about shinigami at all, do you, Frenchy?") Although in English Light Yagami is also MOUSSE. Perhaps this is part of why I like my Mousses to be scarily clever tacticians, even as they do naive and foolish things.
And a huge part of the kink for Tamaki is: "I know I'm gorgeous inside and out, but I always sound really WEIRD when I record messages for the guests' cellphones/MP3 players and I almost wonder why they even ask, it is so weird and this guy sounds just like that! (The voices coming out of his pants aren't weird at all. Whatever floats your boat, dude.) I must keep him talking! Although I'm totally in love with Haruhi (maybe...if my daddy complex hasn't kicked in but I totally bought her this dress, isn't it cute?) and don't find men sexually attractive in the slightest (shut up, Kyoya), we do have a couple of male guests at the host club and also I can flirt with anybody. And, okay, I enjoymaking people happy so they pay attention to me flirting with anyone and everyone!" *sparkle*
And maybe flirting with Kid is kind of like torturing him, where you can totally do it but you have to think outside the box. Especially since "I'm really super-rich and my father runs a big, fancy school" isn't going to impress him any. Maybe Tamaki has to confer with Ranma.
Speaking of, have I told you how Ranma, Akane, Shampoo, Kodachi, Ukyo, Akari and possibly Nabiki drag an unwilling Ryouga back to Ouran for the express purpose of seeing their host club? And Ryouga is like: "You bunch of perverts wait WHY ARE AKARI AND AKANE GOING?" ("To visit my cousin, of course!" *wink*) but can actually kind of give them directions--not to the school, but to the room the hosts are in as "there was a piano in it." And Shampoo is like: "I like the one with the glasses!" And Ranma has the most fun of them ALL.
Also, Haruhi and Tamaki are in my characters with disabilities line, so I will have to poke at Tamaki's neuro-slash-personality type some more. Haruhi has a canonical fear of thunder--which could totally come up!--but even though canon identifies Tamaki as "narcissistic" I agree with his wiki entry and find histrionic personality more helpful in understanding his character. But as per usual, writing him to DSM standards breaks everything and I have to be really careful. Tamaki probably doesn't have enough traits for a diagnosis, and most of those traits aren't at levels he considers a problem. He will, however, kind of admit that the way his emotions work can cause problems now and then. Basically for now I'm writing him how he canonically is, but with more awareness that going from PANIC to WTF? to growing mushrooms in other people's closets is not exactly pleasant for him, even if these emotions seem shallow to everyone else and he can "recover" from them quickly if no one pays him any mind. Also, because disability is complicated, even this isn't always bad because happiness is very intense for him, too. ("HAAAAAAARUHI!"--ye gods, how did I ever doubt the wonderfulness of putting Kid and Tamaki together?) Have I told you that Tamaki is the worst character ever to talk disability with? Even worse than some other really super upper-class people who shall remain nameless, as I know some of you are watching the series for the first time?
TL;DR: I can't believe I was ever nervous about putting Kid and Tamaki together.
