terajkI may be cheating here--most of these pieces focus more on hot or cold things (fire, water, ice) than how those things feel to another person. However, they all evoke the sense of heat and cold wonderfully. Without further ado, here are twelve Avatar: The Last Airbender temperature play recs...for, you know, certain definitions of "temperature play."
1. Fanart: Avatar Korra by レンツ (Korra)
Korra bending all four elements. I particularly like her calm yet determined, possibly sad expression, and the circle of flame around her head.
2. Fanart: Katara Ice by =agent-ayu (Katara)
I love Katara's reflection, and the splotch of ice over her face. She looks like a double of herself.
3. Fanart: Katara by ~arriku (Katara)
Katara looks so frightened or uncertain here, and I love the way her water tentacles look frozen--also, the way they complement her hair.
4. Fanart: Zuko vs. Azula by *theyoungdoyler (Azula, Zuko)
Post-series. I love the contrasts between red and blue, Zuko's pose (he looks like he's struggling to me), and his beard.
5. Fanart: Firelord Azula by ~freedomfighter12 (Azula)
Fiery flowers! And leaves!
6. Fanart: Buff Iroh by ~ElfTheGeneral (Iroh)
Iroh bending lightning while surrounded by flame. The color contrast is fabulous.
7. Fanart: Uncle Iroh the Dragon by ~Deerock-Gorilla (Iroh)
In which Iroh is such a badass that he makes a dragon's head out of fire.
8. Fanart: Iroh: Dragon of the West by *squidbunny (Iroh)
He makes a whole dragon this time.
9. Fanart: Two Sides - Uncle Iroh by =qwedfghbm (Iroh)
I love the complement of Iroh's firebreath and steaming tea.
10. Fanart: Young Prince Iroh by JouVal (Iroh)
I love the use of orange and gold--the clouds, Iroh's flame, his eyes and belt all fit together.
11. Vid: Beautiful by Amanda Dracoanas (Azula, Katara, Zuko and Toph)
The transitions in this vid--from Zuko's Blue Spirit mask sinking into the sea to Toph's tears, Katara waterbending to Azula firebending and back again--are especially lovely.
12. Vidlet: This is why Iroh's Hot bychagrined (Iroh, Zuko, some Iroh/June)
This vid is fabulous! It's only 37 seconds long, but is packed with Iroh's firebending (and other hotness), as well as poor, put-upon, not-hot Zuko.
