It is not near as epic and violent as I'd hoped.

I've never had a pairing (for a very broad definition of "pairing": friends, ship, whatever)* which I was sure was totally crack and no one would write, but lo! It is actually a popular ship! Huzzah!
But what appeals to most writers/artists about them is different than what appeals to me about them (ie. people don't put them together how I want. *pouty face*)
Like, a lot of Pairing I run into has Person A being all shy and submissive and usually having a binary gender, while Person B is being all gentle. Whereas I want neurotype-clashing (one demands perfection; the other can't admit competence) and "I'd prefer you over there today" and "Crona is coming to class this week if we have to drag them. Come on, Black * Star," and "Dammit, didn't our friendship fix you yet?" **(although a third person might do that) and Person A exploiting Person B's disability to avoid doing/escape from things that frighten them. ("I'll go check!" *has no intention of coming back*). And then they have adventures. Also, body horror, because why not?
*At this point they aren't romantically involved, but would do a
kink_bingo square together.
**On the one hand, Crona is perfect for messing with the "true love can cure disabilities" trope; on the other, madness is so normal in Soul Eater that maybe nobody gives a damn.

So this just happened in my head. Marie and Stein are going to some kind of costume party together. (I'd thought they were still students, but I dunno.)
Stein: Should I go as Thor?
Marie: Not unless you're BJ.
Someone's character is about to get broken, I swear.

Sep. 17th, 2012 09:56 pm 1. I bought Kirby's Dream Collection (6 Kirby games on one disc, plus nerdly goodness like a soundtrack and a collector's booklet)! Uh...let us not speak of how long I spent trying to copy enemy abilities in Kirby's Dream Land.
2. One of the reasons I have trouble writing Tsubaki Nakatsukasa is because she isn't annoyed with me. It's several hours of Kirby later, and she's plenty annoyed with me. BOSS! (She gets this theme hummed at her a lot.)
3. She probably doesn't like Mega Man, either. Sadly, all my Mega Man games are packed.

Stein has a copy of Audition, which he recorded on a DVD-R and put in a jewel case. Then he made a replica of this poster for the cover. It is one of his most prized possessions.

....Maka and Katara would have a really fun....interaction, I guess? (Okay, okay, I would ship them.*)
They're both badass! They're both insecure about their own abilities at some point in time and work through it! (Katara being jealous/frustrated that Aang learns waterbending moves so easily; Maka feeling like she's not as strong as Black*Star or Kid) and angry with their fathers! They both get a lot of fandom hate/dislike for beingfemale protagonists teenage girls angry sometimes as imperfect as the fandom darlings bitches! I am insecure about writing them both!
Actually, one reason I have trouble writing them both is because of the hate they get. Because I love that they get angry and frustrated and make mistakes! (And tbh, I can't think of any characters who never make mistakes, ever--hell, even local Joan Watson ( Elementary spoilers ) And I'm like: "But how do I write them doing these things--which darling dudes do, too, btw--without them looking like Bad People? And then I chicken out.
*And I would ship them with/have them talk to Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.

NOOOOOOOO! (Irrational Blair feelz)
Aug. 18th, 2012 10:40 pm I'll stop spamming you after this, I swear.
So, I've been looking through all the Soul Eater confessions on Tumblr (a dangerous business, I know). And amid all the anonymous dislike of Maka (:0), the anonymous hate for Kid ( D:), and the anonymous love for Excalibur (<3!) I found the most disturbing thing ever. Someone hates Blair.
What makes my feels hilarious is that I wasn't sure what to think of Blair at first. But...she's a graduate of the Touhou Project School of Conflict Resolution! (So what if you took one of my souls? I'll be your pet!) Everything she touches turns to fun! She beat up a ghost in her cat form! She out-succubused a succubus!
Out-succubused a SUCCUBUS, fandom. Come the fuck on.

Have aunicorn mighty Excalibur chaser! (contains: animated GIFs)
