terajkI'm catching up on Soul Eater (ch. 97) and this exchange between Kid and his dad is made of lolz. I think it's equal parts still-stuck-in-the-obsession-loop-from-two-pages-ago,* pedantry, and dickery.
Panel 1: Kid: "What is it, Father?"
Panel 2: Shinigami-sama: "Glad to see you okay, Kid!"
Panel 3: Kid: "Please skip this useless courtesy talk and tell me why you brought me here."
Panel 4: Shinigami-sama, making a shocked and/or sad sound effect
ETA: And it got worse. (*dying*)
*How I'm interpreting "I can't follow my dad (who is GOD's) orders right now because as a shinigami it is my job to stay on this battlefield to MAINTAIN ORDER even though I'm doing a pretty crappy job WHY WON'T YOU CLOWNS DIE?!" because, dammit, I can't take any more plot-induced incompetence.
