festivids is opening for nominations in a couple weeks! And even though I have only made two vids ever, I'm excited! *And* judging by last year, there's an audience for Horror Movies of Varying Quality, which is, like, two-thirds of my DVD collection. Not only that, but I don't think many Horror Movies of Varying Quality would be appropriate for fic, as most of the cast is dead and, worse, utterly unlikeable assholes.
But the point is, I am too embarrassed of my lack of taste to rec/nominate things. (My life's goal is to own all the most disturbing horror movies ever made. Except the ones I don't like.)
Actually, the *real* point is that someone should make me a Cabin Fever/The Ruins vid featuring the Jeffs, as their awfulness is eerily complementary. Cabin Fever!Jeff's selfishness and cowardice *did* keep him from catching The Disease; Ruins!Jeff's makeshift doctoring/emotional coldness made everything worse for everybody. Alas, I cannot remember if movie!Jeff is as much this way as book!Jeff is.

Date: 2013-09-09 01:58 am (UTC)I haven't *seen* Street Trash, but I know it's probably the kind of thing I enjoy greatly. I am kind of a massive horror movie geek? And there needs to be more of us in Festivids. So I encourage you to come! One of the joys of Festivids is being able to declare those things that you love, sometimes secretly, now with less shame!
And sometimes you meet people who you didn't know shared your interests! My first year, I found somebody requested Cemetery Man, so I made them a vid for it. And now they are one of my closest friends.
