First of all, thank you for making me a vid! Festivids has been the highlight of my fannish year 3 years running.

I’m actually the WORST person to make things for. A lot of times I don’t have any specific requests in mind: I just want to see what people will do with the source. So even “guidelines” are hard for me to come up with. Honestly, just make the vid of your heart.

All the Boys Love Mandy Lane

Mandy Lane is definitely my problematic fave! I’m a jaded horror movie watcher and let me just say…that ending took me by surprise! If you want to play up Mandy’s and/or Chloe’s (possible?) attraction to women go for it, though there’s not a lot of footage for that.

Cabin Fever film series (2002–2014)

I know someone who reads The Stand whenever she’s sick. I don’t have that kind of brain. Instead, I put Cabin Fever on. It so ridiculous! (Not gonna lie, I’m still bitter that we never got the sequel where the Virus is loose on a cruise ship, because it would’ve brought back the pun in the original title.) I’m gonna be honest: my very favorite character is the Virus. My favorite parts of Spring Fever are those animated “Virus travel montage” sequences. I’m familiar with all three in the main series.

Event Horizon

My girlfriend and I saw Event Horizon on a Netflix date, and it’s my favorite date movie we ever saw. (I know…me and my girlfriend have weird taste in movies.) This movie has such weird imagery (and gore!) in it. I have no specific idea of what I want in an Event Horizon vid: A character study of Captain Miller? The toxic romance between Dr. William Weir and the eponymous ship? Whatever floats your (space) boat!

Ghostbusters (2016)

I requested this before I even saw it, and boy, am I glad I did! I love the ghosts, and all the ghostbusters, especially Patty and Holtzmann (and Patty/Holtzmann). If you wanted to explore the four of them as a found family, or all of them shipped in a polyamorous clump or any combination at all, I’ll love it.

Lights Out (2016)

I really like the idea of a monster you can only see in the dark…which might make this movie hard to vid.(Look, I cracked up laughing when the monster was holding the boyfriend up in the air, so he turned the car headlights on with the remote and promptly fell flat on his face.) But I just want to see what you make.

May (2002)

This movie is so sad. I’d be more than happy with May/Adam/Polly (I have a feeling that if May had explored her newfound guro kink more with Polly than Adam, half the movie wouldn’t have happened.)

Re-Animator series (1983–2003)

Confession time: I haven’t seen Bride of Re-Animator (not for lack of trying), but don’t let that stop you! I love Herbert, and Dan, and Meg, and all the over-the-top gore.

The Shallows (2016):

When I saw this, I was struck by how pretty the locations and cinematography are—not to mention how cleverly it sneaks under an R rating. (I never thought I’d see the day when a shark bites a guy in half in a PG–13 movie. I’m just saying.)
