Do you have any headcanon re: what Toph's relationship with her daughter was like or what kind of a mother she was?

No problem! (*I* misread the meme at first that way, too :D)

Although she taught the Avatar and runs a metalbending school, Toph had a really hard time teaching/explaining metalbending to Lin. Something finally clicked when Azula explained it to her (via the principles of lightningbending); Toph was annoyed with Azula for YEARS.
