Note: spoilers for episode 26, at least.
“You’re going to obsess over this,” said Liz, raising her eyebrow. “Really.”
“I’m not obsessing,” Kid said, and he wasn’t. It was just that, when he’d told Crona it was all right to make friends at their own pace, he’d expected a snail--not a barnacle. And he couldn’t stand it anymore.
“Don’t make Crona deal with your special brand of crazy right now. They’re new.”
He waved a hand dismissively. “You underestimate the Demon Swordsman.”
“Oh, my God,” Liz said.

When Crona answered the door--after pretending not to be in for fifteen minutes--all they said was, “You’re loud.”
“We’re hanging out today, just the two of us,” Kid said. “Er, three.”
“What,” said Crona.
“And you’re deciding what we do.”
“What,” said Crona.
“Come on, then. Anything you want,” he said.
“But I don’t have any money.”
He scoffed. “I have money.”
There was a long silence. Then Crona moved to shut the door, but Kid was faster. “Just pick something, Crona.”
“I can’t.”
“Of course you can. You must like something.”
“I’d like for you to go away,” Crona said.
He sighed. “Demon Swordsman--”
“Shinigami-kun?”
“--please pick something. Anything. Please, I’m begging you.”
Crona looked at him closely. “Are you going to cry?”
“Will that convince you?”
“I’d...really rather not do this,” Crona said.
“Why not? What awful thing would happen if you just tell people what you want?”
“I go crazy and kill people,” Crona said matter-of-factly.
“You used to,” Kid said. “Medusa’s not here now to do that to you, is she?”
“No, I guess not,” said Crona.
“Well, then. What would you like to do?”
“I don’t know. What do people do together when someone bangs on your door for fifteen minutes and won’t leave you alone?”
"Oh, please. I wasn't banging the entire time," Kid said. Then: “Anything fun. They have breakfast or go to a movie or play some game or other--“
“A game?” Crona seemed to think. Then they said, “My blood is black,” to no one in particular.
“Yes?” Kid prodded after a few seconds.
“Can we have a race?” asked Crona. “A flying race? I think Ragnarok and I can still make wings.”
"Excellent,” said Kid.

Date: 2012-07-06 10:49 pm (UTC)I love the idea of Kid and Crona racing. :)
I...have a thing for flying, apparently? And also, racing. If I were a better artist I'd draw Kid, Maka and Soul, Blair (on her broomstick), Crona and Tavros Nitram having a race. (Because even after getting robot legs he totally still has his rocket chair.)
And their interaction (with Kid being pushy and controlling even when trying to be nice, and Crona being Crona) was perfect!
EEE! Thank you--I'm so glad it worked for you! Although I'm sure Ragnarok has Opinions about the whole thing; he just would've broken ALL OF IT which, to be fair, is in his job description. Also, in Kid's defense, Crona could use a pushy friend. I love poking at their odd, triggery friendship. (Crona just feeling out how bodily autonomy works, Kid forgetting its importance now and then. For instance).
My love of Crona knows no bounds, and so I'm torn! I mean, manga!Crona, NOOOOO! But there are things I love about manga!Crona: hir Black Blood powers warm my body horror-loving heart (Thorns. Thorns from hir body!), and also, hir fear/dislike of rules. (ODD. TRIGGERY. FRIENDSHIP.)
I have to be very careful, but these two together interest me GREATLY, for sure.
