Silly Ranma 1/2 question

I wrote a squeetastic post about how Ryoga Hibiki is an Awesome Disabled Person (not that I'm biased because we share impairments or anything, or because Rumiko Takahashi portrays these impairments so fucking accurately and in ways that get right what "experts" frequently screw up), but I lost it. Ryoga would be proud--or maybe he'd just weep sympathetically. Oh, well. Have a poll.

Following other people is a very important life skill for me, and other people frequently take me places. While the two of us may lose each other (say, if they turn a corner or I stop to look at something), but we don't often get lost together. And yet, whenever Ryoga and Ukyo go places together (so far), they've gotten lost.  Ukyo is like: "You directionless jerk!", etc. Why doesn't Ukyo find their way? Or, you know, just leave him there?

Psst! Even if you're not familiar with Ranma 1/2, I want your opinion! Canon isn't particularly helpful, and anyway, I love you.

Why do Ryoga and Ukyo (and *only* Ukyo) get lost together?

The places they're in (an obstacle course, caves) are difficult for anyone to navigate, spatial impairment or no.

She should be! (And fandom says so). AND it's a very Akane/Ranma-type dynamic. Although I think (skip) he gets another girlfriend later, because he is so awesome.

How is EVERYONE not in love with Ryoga? I wish I could be 14 again and read Ranma 1/2 when I needed it, which may be a silly thing to admit in public, but IT IS TRUE.

I used to have a Ryoga icon on LJ back in the day. I need to re-make it...

I've actually cosplayed as Ryoga at Anime Weekend Atlanta back in... '04, I think?... because, well, he totally has my sense of direction. ^_^ My only regret is that I didn't joke in-character about getting lost because of all the streets named Peachtree.

Oh, man! My icon is a quick-and-dirty version. (I really should learn actual Photoshop skills).

And although I've never cosplayed before ever (and am not even finished reading the freakin' manga) I totally have fantasies of cosplaying Ryoga (and running into someone cosplaying Roranoa Zoro from One Piece,) so that is awesome.

I just discovered these awesome people with my sense of direction, like, last month! And they were here this whole time!
